Intermedia, a not-for-profit organization working for journalists' capacity building and strengthening freedom of information, in collaboration with Pakistan Initiative for Mothers and Newborns (PAIMAN), a project funded by US Agency for International Development, announces ‘Safe Motherhood Award' for journalists working in print and electronic media.
The award categories are
- Best newspaper/magazine report on mothers and newborns healthcare
- Best TV report on mothers and newborns healthcare
Decisions to give awards will be based upon the following criteria:
- Originality of the content
- Accuracy of information
- Citation by other reports/articles
Winners will be given certificates of recognition, shields and cash prizes of 50,000 rupees each. Awards would be finalized by a committee of senior journalists. Candidates can send copies of their printed clippings and television reports produced between September 2006 to September 2007 latest by October 5, 2007 to MNH Project Coordinator at the following address;
