  Journalists barred from entering Minister Block
  Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) had banned the entry of sports journalists’ to the Ministers block. The journalists were trying to contact PSB DG to seek information about previous days briefing given to the Prime Minister and the Standing Committee on Sports about sports scenario in the country. The PSB Assistant Director Mr. Azam Dar while misusing his powers ordered the security not to allow journalists within the premises of the Ministers Block stating that it was banned by the Government and also told that the offices were closed for prayers. However Mr. Dar locked the doors of the Ministers Block and was himself present in the Block till 6:00 pm to perform his official duties. All Unions of Journalists of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have stressed upon the Federal Minister for Sports Mr. Shamim Haider and the government to take notice of this issue and to work out a permanent solution for such incidents.

  Journalists were barred from entry due to official work load, Assistant Director PSB
  The Assistant Director and Spokesperson of the pakistan Sports Board Mr. Azam Dar has said that the journalists were barred from entering Ministers Block due to official work load. He said that the staff of PSB was performing official duties assigned to them and wanted to finish it on time, the security guards were told to close the doors due to official work load and not due to any personal reasons. He said that the PSB is facing many hurdles due to the absence of Public Relations Department.

  Political parties, Journalist organizations protest over Journalist abduction
  Political parties and journalists organizations have protested the abduction of Resident Editor of Daily Express Peshawar. They have asked the government to take immediate and urgent action for safe recovery. Shohail Qalandar abduction has been protested and condemned in all over the country. Jiamat-e-Islami, MMA, ANP, and other political, tribal and journalists organizations have shown solidarity with journalist community and abducted Resident Editor.

  Asfandyar, Siraj plea for missing journalist’s release
  Politicians, social workers, lawyers, journalists and local traders have expressed their grave concern over the kidnapping of senior journalist Sohail Qalandar and appealed to the kidnappers to release the senior journalist.

  Senior journalist Shamim Shamsi dead
  Senior journalist Shamim Shamsi, Dawn’s Sukkur Correspondent, died in a hospital in Karachi on Sunday after a severe asthma attack. He was 64. Mr Shamsi, who joined Dawn in 1971, was widely respected for his commitment to the profession. He highlighted burning issues of Sindh and problems of the people of Sukkur.
