This guidebook is the first in the Media Manager's Companion Series. The guidebook intends to serve the new private electronic broadcast media in Pakistan and sheds light on the following topics:

1. Why Pakistan liberalized its broadcast media;
2. An introduction to the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), the regulatory agency overseeing electronic media;
3. An introduction to and explanation of the broadcast radio licence application process;
4. An explanation of the duties and obligations that a broadcast radio licensee must follow in order to comply with the law.
