Job Title : Media Research Manager

Position based at: Islamabad

Department : Media Law & Policy

Report To : Media Law & Policy Advisor

Salary: Rs 30,000 per month

SUMMARY

Conduct research on media issues, develop databases for media stakeholders in Pakistan and manage online media resources.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (others may be assigned)

1. Research media related issues for Internews managed websites
2. Develop and update comprehensive web-based media resources
3. Help manage Internews online resources and websites
4. Collect, edit and catalogue media reports, publications and materials produced by Internews and other stakeholders
5. Proactively service information needs of media stakeholders and Internews partners
6. Assist Media Law & Policy Advisor in lobbying and advocating for media freedom
7. Liaise with Internews media partners and other stakeholders to promote organizational media development programs
8. Proactively publicize and promote Internews media development programs and activities
9. Maintain records of Internews interaction with partners and stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferably a degree in journalism or at least two years of journalism experience
• Excellent understanding of media laws and regulatory issues
• Working knowledge of the constitution, parliament and judicial system
• Good research and data management skills
• Proficient in use of computers and Internet
• Web resource development skills
• Excellent English and Urdu language skills
• Excellent writing, communications and editing skills
• Team player
• Ready to work under pressure of deadlines
