Job Title : Media Research Associate

Position based at: Islamabad

Department : Media Law & Policy

Report To : Media Law & Policy Advisor

Salary: Rs 20,000 per month

SUMMARY

Assist in research on media issues and develop and maintain online media databases.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (others may be assigned)  

1. Assist the Media Law & Policy Department of Internews in researching media issues
2. Update databases on and for Pakistani media and its stakeholders
3. Update directories and e-mail groups of media stakeholders
4. Update Internews managed web-based media resources
5. Manage Internews online resources and websites
6. Collect and catalogue media reports, publications and materials
7. Assist Media Law & Policy Department with materials for media events
8. Maintain record of Internews interaction with partners and stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferably a degree in journalism or at least two years of journalism experience
• Understanding of media issues
• Working knowledge of the constitution, parliament and judicial system
• Research and data management skills
• Proficient in use of computers and Internet
• Web resource development skills
• Good English and Urdu language skills
• Good writing, communications and editing skills
• Team player
• Ready to work under pressure of deadlines
