Improving Journalism Capacity of Radio in Conflict Regions

Helping Radio Report Professional Amid Conflict

This Intermedia project aims to promote in-depth and balanced reporting by improving the flow of fair and balanced information to Pakistani areas affected by conflict and information distortion.

The project will improve the flow of balanced information in conflict regions through strengthening of FM stations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and promoting synergies and networking among the stations to improve professionalism.

During the first phase (August 2010 to January 2011) of the 3-year project, Intermedia in partnership with International Media Support will provide technical assistance to the FM stations by providing the following:

•  Journalistic trainings
•  Safety and risk-awareness training
•  Improving ICT networking among stations
•  Improving information and technical management of stations
•  Small equipment grants

Implemented by Intermedia, this project is funded by the governments of Denmark and Norway through the European INGO International Media Support (IMS) .
